We’ve had so many questions about what to expect during Juneteenth Weekend on June 19, so we wanted to clarify.
This will not be the full Brown Renfro exhibition.
During Juneteenth Weekend, Brown Renfro will be present through a special introduction connected to:
Sacred Web: The Artistic Lineage of John T. Biggersat the Texas Southern University Museum.
Professor Leon Renfro was a student of
Dr. Biggers, and it is truly an honor for his story, legacy, and upcoming exhibition to be introduced within such an important and historic exhibition honoring Dr. Biggers and his artistic lineage.
Information and introductory materials about Brown Renfro will be present during the weekend, while the full immersive Brown Renfro exhibition officially opens August 29 – October 25, 2026.
The story continues. The legacy lives on.
