A conversation generations in the making.

In this moment, my father, Leron Renfro, and I are talking with Jesse Sifuentes in front of a ceramic work created by my grandfather, Professor Leon Renfro.

Jesse was a student of both Dr. John T. Biggers and my grandfather. Years later, he would become my father’s middle school art teacher.

Now, decades later, the three of us stand together reflecting on art, education, mentorship, and legacy.

Some stories cannot be planned. They reveal themselves one connection at a time.

The deeper we explore our family’s history, the more we discover how intertwined these artistic lineages truly are.

We don’t just hang the art. We carry it on.™
